Dude Clothes

My mom and I met at the mall last week for some girl time and Christmas shopping. Juniper lattes in hand (they are good!) we ended up in the men’s department at Macy’s so I could help her find something for Josh. I don’t know if you guys are familiar with the men’s department in Macy’s, but it’s great. What was supposed to be a shopping trip for Josh ended up being a shopping trip for me. Damn, I love men’s clothes. This plaid, frayed shirt is SO comfortable and steers away from the typical plaid button-down.  I love the pocket details and length (I hate short button downs). The shirt is more than half off so check it out before they sell out. I’m wearing a small in the picture . And hey, maybe your man will want one too. Links below! And don’t forget to check out my recent read below because it was SO GOOD.

Sherpa

So, I’m sure by  now you’ve figured out that I don’t post links to everything I wear on my main Insta page. Sometimes I’m wearing an oldie that is long gone from stores (I wouldn’t be able to link you even if I wanted to). And sometimes I’m being selfish and I want to keep it for myself. That’s what I did with these boots, but you guys pestered me enough that I decided to stop being selfish and share. Yes, they are amazingly comfortable! Also, the stroller you asked about. I love it but it’s not practical (no basket). It’s really a Target cock block. Speaking of Target, I know what you’re really eyeballing is my sherpa jacket in mint, and I was SO excited to share it with you. Why? It’s cheap, warm, and FABULOUS.

Here’s the link for my mint sherpa Jacket!

That’s a Wrap

I get really bored with myself sometimes. Not just with my clothes either: my thoughts, my writing, my emotional hangups. Like, stop wearing black every day, Tarryn. Maybe mix patterns. Can you wear a floral print, or will that make you die?

Who knows?

I try to reinvent myself constantly. And that means facing and moving forward. It’s like spring cleaning really. Do I like this  about myself? Should I keep it or toss it? I end up keeping the things that help me survive and tossing things that make me overly negative. For example, I like being melancholy, there’s a certain truth to seeing the world in damp grey. However, I don’t like being negative. That’s a real fucking downer for everyone. I want my approach to EVERYTHING to be positive so that I can really experience something before I decide if it was disappointing. Often when we enter a situation with an expectation of disappointment we doom ourselves. Paint the scene before it colors itself, you know? Maybe you don’t. Am I rambling. All of this because I wore leopard with a checkered print head wrap. I hardly wear print never mind mixing them. Josh bought me these biker boots for Christmas. The problem with my other boots is that I can no longer bend over to get them on (belly), so I needed something to slip my feet into. I love them. So comfortable and so badass. They’re slightly on sale too.

I included a plus size leopard coat. Links below.

The Shoes

Okaaaay! I’ll let you where I got my shoes. Truth be told, I got them last winter and didn’t think JC would bring them back. Alas! they did. So here are my favorite shoes. So comfortable by the way. I love me some thick soled wedges, the chunkier the better, but if the soles are too narrow I wobble. Not the case with these. I can walk all day and my feet never get sore (I traipsed around London with them last Christmas). Anyway, hope your Christmas was peaceful. Spend those gift cards, yo!

Warm Things

I wasn’t in the market for a new coat, but something about those gold buttons and fur collar…
I listed my boots and a set of very affordable dupes! Same with the shirt. Josh and I just had FOUR days together. It was wonderful and I want to weep at the fact that he goes back to work tomorrow. It was so dreary in the PNW this weekend. Josh was depressed and I was in my element. Today, on our last day, we wandered around Ballard and found stocking stuffers for the kids. Really weird shit. They’re going to love it. Hope your weekend was wonderful!

Green Teddy

Tis the season of green. Can’t stop, won’t stop. I don’t feel like I’m intentionally buying all of the green things, it’s just happening. But this little cardigan was too hard to pass up. I have recently left the Lulu Lemon tribe as well, traded in for these Zella leggings which are a third of the price and more comfortable. They wash better too. I’m often a brand whore and jump on wagons that leave my pocket book empty and give me a wedgie. Zella stays in place and are breathable. Give them a try. Hey ho!

What I’m reading! Sidetone: this book messed me up. I can’t stop thinking about the ending. Why?! Ugh.

Ahhhh, I love this velvet duster/coat. Not only is the color stunning in person, its comfortable and warm (but not too warm). I got so many compliments while wearing it that I can’t wait to pair it with some other outfits. Links below.

London Style

Chilly, rainy, charming and elegant; my favorite place in the world is London. Sometimes places save me. Five years ago Washington state saved my life by renewing my hope in…well…everything. Florida had taken a toll on me mentally and physically. I was hot (literally) and I felt grimy from life’s disappointments. I wanted to breath fresh air, live below the trees, and see mountains capped in snow. And so here I am, living my dream. London is the place I go to think, and to write, and to feel alive. I was limp and I knew I needed to come, and so I booked a flight. I’ll have something more permanent here one day soon, but for now I’m in my favorite hotel, near my favorite tube station soaking in this magnificent city. I eat bangers and mash for dinner, and I buy giant bottles of water from the corner shop. I walk, and I walk, and I walk until I can’t feel my feet. I eat all the things. I buy Josh clothes. I find bookshops and open markets. I take pictures. I feel good. Thanks for caring and for all your messages and comments over the last few weeks. My outfit links below.

Starry Eyed

Hi, it’s been a while since I’ve done a fashion post. It’s been all depression and failures lately. Fortunately even when I’m depressed I still wear clothes.  Just wanted to share my two favorite fall/winter finds with you. This charcoal denim jacket is the best thing that’s happened to why wardrobe since last week. Heeeey! Stars!
I was looking for Ugg wedges, because Uggs feel like the warmest, softest, cuddliest blanket…for your feet. I’m so hoppy they do stylish/comfortable because I’m not a huge fan of the traditional Uggs (though I do have a pair). I also found a more affordable denim with stars, so check that one out too.
