Spring Ready

Just dropping in to say hi! Linked you to my outfit. I am obsessed with bodysuits at the moment. This one is flattering under a jacket or can stand alone with a great pair of pants. The material stretches and is thick enough to not be transparent. Happy shopping!

Labor Day White

If you’re like me and don’t mind breaking fashion rules I have a pair of pants for you! I plan on pairing them with chunky sweaters all fall and winter. They’d look great with a pair of black booties too. One more week till my kids start school and I’ll have a few more hours to work. A lot of you ask me how I do it all. Right now I have a sleeping baby in my arms while I put this post together. I spent the morning with him strapped to my chest in my Ergo while I stood at my hightop table and wrote a chapter for my next book (rocking side to side).  It’s definitely about mind over matter, acclimating to new situations, and being willing to work under and in any circumstances. How bad do you want it? Good. Do whatever you have to to get it. We’re women, we can if we really try. That’s our gift.

Warm Things

I wasn’t in the market for a new coat, but something about those gold buttons and fur collar…
I listed my boots and a set of very affordable dupes! Same with the shirt. Josh and I just had FOUR days together. It was wonderful and I want to weep at the fact that he goes back to work tomorrow. It was so dreary in the PNW this weekend. Josh was depressed and I was in my element. Today, on our last day, we wandered around Ballard and found stocking stuffers for the kids. Really weird shit. They’re going to love it. Hope your weekend was wonderful!

OHMYGODICUTMYHAIR

And for the very first time I don’t regret it. It took me thirty two years to find the stylist of my dreams. Thank you, Shannon! She’s been cutting and blowdrying me for about three years now and there has never been a time when I leave her unhappy. I needed a change since I spent two years growing my hair out for the wedding. I was afraid to cut it because every time I’ve cut my hair I feel motherly. Like, I know I’m a mother but I don’t want to look like a mother. Ya know?! I have Peter Pan syndrome and in my heart I’m forever eighteen. Guys, if you’re ever in the area check out Shannon Wylie.

Anyway, I found you a dupe pair of jeans for $60 and also listed my pair. And if you’re a slouchy t-shirt kind of girl this is my all time favorite tee. Washes well, doesn’t shrink, fits perfectly. And I am LOVING these Minkoff sneakers. So, usually I don ‘t like these laceless sneaker things. They sort of look lazy to me. Like, I’m a mom and I don’t have time for laces. But add silver grommets AND I LOVE THEM. LAZY SNEAKERISH  THINGS WITH EDGE! Yaaaas!

Naked and Mean

No one in Washington has air conditioning. That means for three weeks during summer I’m miserable and mean. Heat makes me a very bad person, guys. We’re officially past the 95 degree hump in my corner of the PNW and I can officially stop walking around naked and angry. This sweatshirt I picked up from AG is comfortable and still works in hot weather. I found a couple of more affordable options for you. And since summer is almost over this will float into your fall wardrobe. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend.

Cold Shoulder

More high waisted pants for you. This time in fancy pink with a little bow to wrap up your waist. Also this top was a nice surprise. It was left in the fitting room; someone else’s reject. I bought it because… NO SHIRT LEFT BEHIND. Also because it’s pretty fly for a cold shoulder top. Cold shoulder tops look so whimsical and romantic and…well…I don’t want to look whimsical and romantic. Anyway, clearly it won me over.

Wide Leggers

Plus size included in this post! I found floral wide leg pants that mostly all under $45! The area thing about these pants is they have a stretchy waist-band. Think sweatpants but with a more breathable, flowy fabric. They’re high-waisted so they sit above the belly button by about an inch. I wore mine with Birkenstocks, but they pair really well with wedges or flatforms! If you want something prettier than say-sweats or yoga pants, these are you comfy alternatives!

Mom Jeans

First pair of high-waisted jeans, right here. I’ve never even tried a pair on because they have that mom jean stigma. And while mom jeans look sexy and dare-I-say even cool on twenty year olds, well…I am a mom. And on me they look like mom jeans. I’m adjusting. Because guess what? They’re so comfortable. So, so comfortable. I may never go back. I stepped out of the box and wore my new mom jeans with a crop top. Yikes. There was even a bit of belly peeking through. I’m normally an oversized shirt kind of girl…long…flowy. But, I felt good in this whole outfit and I really believe it was the mom-er- I mean high-waisted jeans that made me feel that way. My espadrille shoes, they’re from last year so I wasn’t able to find them. However I found some similar flatforms I thought you’d like. P.s. “I’m not a regular mom, I’m a cool mom.”
