Labor Day White

If you’re like me and don’t mind breaking fashion rules I have a pair of pants for you! I plan on pairing them with chunky sweaters all fall and winter. They’d look great with a pair of black booties too. One more week till my kids start school and I’ll have a few more hours to work. A lot of you ask me how I do it all. Right now I have a sleeping baby in my arms while I put this post together. I spent the morning with him strapped to my chest in my Ergo while I stood at my hightop table and wrote a chapter for my next book (rocking side to side).  It’s definitely about mind over matter, acclimating to new situations, and being willing to work under and in any circumstances. How bad do you want it? Good. Do whatever you have to to get it. We’re women, we can if we really try. That’s our gift.

That’s a Wrap

I get really bored with myself sometimes. Not just with my clothes either: my thoughts, my writing, my emotional hangups. Like, stop wearing black every day, Tarryn. Maybe mix patterns. Can you wear a floral print, or will that make you die?

Who knows?

I try to reinvent myself constantly. And that means facing and moving forward. It’s like spring cleaning really. Do I like this  about myself? Should I keep it or toss it? I end up keeping the things that help me survive and tossing things that make me overly negative. For example, I like being melancholy, there’s a certain truth to seeing the world in damp grey. However, I don’t like being negative. That’s a real fucking downer for everyone. I want my approach to EVERYTHING to be positive so that I can really experience something before I decide if it was disappointing. Often when we enter a situation with an expectation of disappointment we doom ourselves. Paint the scene before it colors itself, you know? Maybe you don’t. Am I rambling. All of this because I wore leopard with a checkered print head wrap. I hardly wear print never mind mixing them. Josh bought me these biker boots for Christmas. The problem with my other boots is that I can no longer bend over to get them on (belly), so I needed something to slip my feet into. I love them. So comfortable and so badass. They’re slightly on sale too.

I included a plus size leopard coat. Links below.

Come to the Dark Side

Star Wars lover, right here! Always rooting for Darth Vader, love me some villains. I have been faithfully wearing my denim overalls every summer for five years now, but then I decided I wanted overalls in black. The hunt began. I found these and they’re not a boyfriend fit like my blue denims, they’re tighter…a little sexier (Can you call overalls sexy?) and they’re definitely comfortable. The pair I have are listed first in the links below. They are an Urban Outfitters brand called DGB and have a strap back rather than a full bib back (See photos). I did link some more affordable brands so you had options. What’s a woman without options? My necklace is from Tiffanys, I bought it for myself four years ago for my thirtieth birthday and I still wear it weekly. It’s currently on sale, so check it out.

Dressy

Just so you know my dress is back in stock and on SALE. Under $42! This is a big summer go-to for me since it’s flattering on top and doesn’t cup and caress belly weight. It’s really well made too so don’t worry about the quality, I’ve washed mine over and over.  If you’re a shorty wear it with wedges. I’m 5’6 and I’m wearing a Medium in the picture. It can double in fall with a jean jacket. I threw in some sale sandals too. LOVE the star sandals!

Everything Heels

Just a midweek quickie. I ordered these heels last week and pretty much waited by the front door every day for them to arrive. I was not disappointed.

They are EVERYTHING.

The high back design prevents heel rubbing which is a problem I always run into with this type of shoe. They are comfortable! My Hudson jeans are on sale, but jump quick because sizes are dwindling. Let’s talk about wrap bracelets for a moment. I don’t actually wear them on my wrist, I wrap them around my ankle. When you’re wearing summer sandals the wrap bracelet around your ankle is a sexy and fun addition to dresses and shorts. I never take mine off and don’t notice it’s there anymore.

The Wrap Dress

So you guys keep asking me about the wrap dress I posted on my main Instagram page. The problem is that I bought that dress last year and the exact print I’m wearing in the photo is no longer available. The good new is that the designer has multiple other wrap dresses in slightly varying style and print. I can vouch for the brand. Also, my Michael Kor sandals are on sale and that price is a steal. So here is a little wrap dress offering for you. Remember to scroll right to see all of the options. Hope you find something you like!

Ripped Summer

Hi,

So it was warm this weekend. I was cheerful AF. Josh was very confused. But guess what? It was a nice break and it’s not hot enough to be oppressive yet. Holla to all my Florida and Texas friends! I had dinner at my friend, Simone’s house last night (you may know her as @simoneinthekitchen on Instagram) and now I’m obsessed with miniature cucumbers. Damn, that girl can cook. Anyway, find mini cucumbers and dip them in hummus. Yum.

This post includes plus size. And for those of you who ask about my ripped jeans, well when I buy my ripped jeans they often aren’t shredded enough for me so I actually go in with a razor and rip them further. If you see more intense rips in any of my jean pictures this is why. Birkenstocks, the perfect shoe. They actually mold to the shape of your foot after a few wears and provide back support (this is something I need) They last hellavu long too. It’s difficult to make them look worn. Worth every penny in my opinion. Links below!

Nike Sale

Just a quick post today as I’m writing. Nikes are on SALE! By far my favorite pair, I wear them with everything. Zella sweater is lightweight and perfect for a slightly chilly night. There’s a really unique detail on the back. My sports bra, which I wear under all of my t-shirts to spice them up, is Nike. It’s an oldie so I linked you to a very affordable Victoria’s Secret version. Not a lot of support for big boobs, but enough to wear it under shirts. Truly t-shirts are boring, but comfortable so why not make them a little sexy? Go for it.

Vacation Comfy

When I’m not wearing boots I wear ugly statement shoes. I think I’m revolting against spring or whatever this shit is. Warm weather is bullshit. My sneakers are called Himalayan Campers. They’ve been discontinued, probably due to their sheer ugliness, but you can find them on E-bay. Also, love em’ or hate em’ you’ll never find a shoe that makes people’s heads whip around like these. They’re also crazy comfortable and I’ve gone hiking in mine. The rest of everything is listed below. Today we are in Bern, Switzerland. I’ve seen quite a lot of the world at this point and I can confidently say it’s one of the most enchanting places I’ve visited. I read that it is one of the top ten cities of the world for quality of life. That sort of baffles me since we paid $29 for a late night McDonalds snack. If you ever come to Switzerland know that everything is mad expensive and the average restaurant check for two people is around $80 without alcohol. Yikes. What really drew me here is my hero, Albert Einstein. He had a flat here and the number of his flat is my lucky number. We’re going to find it tomorrow so I can lick the front door.
