Dude Clothes

My mom and I met at the mall last week for some girl time and Christmas shopping. Juniper lattes in hand (they are good!) we ended up in the men’s department at Macy’s so I could help her find something for Josh. I don’t know if you guys are familiar with the men’s department in Macy’s, but it’s great. What was supposed to be a shopping trip for Josh ended up being a shopping trip for me. Damn, I love men’s clothes. This plaid, frayed shirt is SO comfortable and steers away from the typical plaid button-down.  I love the pocket details and length (I hate short button downs). The shirt is more than half off so check it out before they sell out. I’m wearing a small in the picture . And hey, maybe your man will want one too. Links below! And don’t forget to check out my recent read below because it was SO GOOD.

His Favorite Things

I got Josh to compile a list of his favorite things! Recently I’ve noticed a reoccurring package on our doorstep from a company called Pair of Thieves. Apparently this is Josh’s new favorite undies brand. Actress, Jessica Alba’s husband started this company. I had to laugh when I heard what it was about. Ahem…eliminating SWASS from men’s lives. SWASS standing for…um…sweaty ass. I’ve linked you to those for your guy’s SWASS issues. S’well bottles, we both use ours daily and have yet to find a water bottle we like better. Diesel watches, one of the coolest looking watch brands. We hardly go anywhere without him receiving compliments. They’re definitely large and eye catching for those flashy guys. December is here, ladies. Time to get your shit together and start on that Christmas shopping!

My Favorite Things!

Okay, you guys wanted to see my favorite things. Perhaps you need a hint hint for the husband or boyfriend for Christmas, or maybe you’re just going to buy your own present. Either way here are my favorite things, both for myself and the home. I am a plant lover (my friends call my home Jurassic Park) and instead of potting my plants in boring planters I find unique ones at my local nursery. I have both the planters I listed and they bring me great joy. Secret, I love my Burberry rain boots about a thousand times more than my Hunters. They are considerably more comfortable. Josh and I have a record player in our bedroom. It’s the perfect addition to our funky, relaxed space. We have string lights along the ceiling and one of my favorite things to do is dance under the bedroom lights to music. I think its very romantic. As a family we are always dancing. Fig out on my White Lies canister, someone else already did. I keep mine in the kitchen. There’s a really funny line of them, I remember one being Valium. Black silverware for all the black souls. And I am obsessed with Jo Malone scents. I use this bath soak weekly. Rose and Gardenia are my favorite scents and this is just dreamy. All right, you get the point. Happy hinting!

Killer Boots

When I bought my boots I figured people would think they’re the ugliest thing they’d ever seen. And maybe they are, but I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! And apparently many of you do too. I bought them in Camden Town in my beloved London. Little shop with funky leather boots. I can’t find them online guys, but I did find some similar boots which are quite a bit more affordable. Speaking of London, I can’t quit it. I’ve been watching British movies, reading British books, and daydreaming of living in my favorite city. Please, God, please. I’ve never been more in love with any place. Anyway, links below and I hope you have a very merry Christmas, friends.

That Sweater Though!

I’m not going to lie and tell you that I don’t have a lot of clothes. I do. Especially sweaters. I am a sweater junkie, and I had no idea that when I lived in Florida I was continuously depressed because I couldn’t wear sweaters. Okay, that’s a stretch. I was depressed living in Florida for many reasons, but I didn’t even own sweaters when I lived there. What type of life is that, you know? These are a few of my favorite sweaters. You all ask me about that grey waffle Leith a lot. And I get so many compliments on the mustard sweater I’m wearing in the pic. They do have it in black! Links below.

Block That Color

Four years strong. That’s how long I’ve had my UGG waterproof boots. They were the first big thing I bought when I started selling books and moved to rainy Washington. Now I have all kinds of rain boots, but in general they’re a drag, even cute ones like Hunter. They’re kind of stiff, you know? If the zombie apocalypse hits while you’re wearing your Hunter boots you’re going to die. With the UGG boots you have the waterproof thing going on, they’re flexible and most importantly they’re extremely comfortable. Like a slipper. Imagine that. Of all the things in my closet, I love these most.

My black and white color block sweater is under sixty bucks! I did not link my fingerless gloves, and I know you guys are going to ask me about them. I bought them in London, and they’re covered in sharp weapon-like spikes. Josh is not a fan, but they keep him in line. Links below!

Free the Skirts

 Hey there!

Happy Thanksgiving week. I am off to London today and very excited about it. My children visit their dad’s family in Indiana every Thanksgiving and so as not to be depressed…I leave the country. But, let’s be honest, England is my very favorite place in the world and I don’t care much for turkey- so, EXCITED!  My favorite time to go is around Christmastime. London has a very Harry Potter feel at Christmastime: street bazaars that sell mulled wine, the hustle and bustle of the city, red double-decker buses, very tall men wearing very beautiful clothes. You’d love it. Josh has never been and I’m so eager to share my favorite place with him. As for the outfit, I wore this on our anniversary. My Free People skirt is on MAD sale right now. It’s very soft and comfortable for those of you who are picky about skirts. And my cardigan comes in several colors. Talk when I get back! Have fun!

Hunter SALE

You guys! Hunter is having a sale! It’s hard to score Hunter rain boots for under $150, but Hunter has put a bunch of fun colors on sale. Now is the time to grab them for you or someone else for Christmas. Yes, I said it, the “C” word. You’ll thank me if you start your Christmas shopping now, procrastinator. Or maybe just buy them for yourself and hand them to your significant other and say “Surprise! This is what you bought me!” Whatever, right? Just buy the boots.
