Leggings Are Pants

Don’t let anyone tell you that leggings aren’t pants, especially Blair Waldorf. Since everyone has been asking where I get mine I threw a post together for you. The ones I’m wearing are gunmetal in a size 8-10. I got my oversized courier shirt at a small boutique so I did my best to find something similar for you. I’m ten pounds down! But I still can’t fit into any of my old jeans. Happy shopping!

Knots and Studs

I did not list my Nike workout pants on the blog, though if you want truly comfortable pants with a built in pocket for your cell phone go check them out on the Nike website. I’d choose Nike over Lulu Lemon every time. I recently traded my Fitbit for a Fitbit HR and I LOVE it. Guys, did you know the Fitbit app keeps track of your period!? Oh, you did? Cool. I am always late to the party. Like I just binged watched all seven seasons of Gossip Girl. It was during the first six weeks of Avett’s life, but I became so obsessed that I’d have dreams where I was walking around telling people: “I’m Chuck Bass.” My other obsession: the Steven Madden sandals I linked you to. They’re on sale! Look at how happy I am that they’re on sale.

R&B

Sooo long, it’s been so long. My excuse is that I’ve been writing harder than I’ve ever written before. More than one project too, so I don’t even shop anymore. And when I do shop it’s for baby gear. Also, I haven’t wanted to wear clothes for months now, so all I’ve had to sell you is my nudity. I’ve started wearing clothes again and not just walking around in Josh’s boxers and a sports bra. Clothes are necessary I’ve found, if you want to leave the house. So, I’ve stocked up on yoga pants (mostly Zella), and pregnancy tanks (which I wear even when I’m not pregnant), and some shirts that can accommodate my belly.

Wildfox. Expensive AF! The first time I bought one I had immediate buyers remorse. However I didn’t return the sweatshirt and have worn it consistently for four years. Wild fox is the only sweatshirts I’ll wear now, because once you feel how soft and comfortable they are you no longer want to wear those other stiff things. The pullover I’m wearing in my photo is not on sale, however I included a couple that are! Just click the links below to check them out.

I’m reading a GREAT book right now, so make sure you click on the link to see what I’m reading.

Green Teddy

Tis the season of green. Can’t stop, won’t stop. I don’t feel like I’m intentionally buying all of the green things, it’s just happening. But this little cardigan was too hard to pass up. I have recently left the Lulu Lemon tribe as well, traded in for these Zella leggings which are a third of the price and more comfortable. They wash better too. I’m often a brand whore and jump on wagons that leave my pocket book empty and give me a wedgie. Zella stays in place and are breathable. Give them a try. Hey ho!

What I’m reading! Sidetone: this book messed me up. I can’t stop thinking about the ending. Why?! Ugh.

Foggy Pink

Grey skies and porridge for breakfast right before I hopped on the Tube. London has one of the most accessible and easy to use underground train systems. When I get home to the States I always grieve the lack of public transport, missing my daily rides on the Tube. I’m quite proud of all my Tube knowledge after all these London trips I take. I can pretty much navigate myself all over the city. I even gave directions to lost people while I was there! One day, London, one day I will live in you full time. And heeeeey! anyone remember Fila? I guess you’d have to be a child of the nineties because my twenty something friends are like–WTF is Fila? Only the flyest sneaker brand, my friends. Totally off-the-chain. Amiright? If you’re wanting a blast from the past here are the links to my Fila ensemble.

London Style

Chilly, rainy, charming and elegant; my favorite place in the world is London. Sometimes places save me. Five years ago Washington state saved my life by renewing my hope in…well…everything. Florida had taken a toll on me mentally and physically. I was hot (literally) and I felt grimy from life’s disappointments. I wanted to breath fresh air, live below the trees, and see mountains capped in snow. And so here I am, living my dream. London is the place I go to think, and to write, and to feel alive. I was limp and I knew I needed to come, and so I booked a flight. I’ll have something more permanent here one day soon, but for now I’m in my favorite hotel, near my favorite tube station soaking in this magnificent city. I eat bangers and mash for dinner, and I buy giant bottles of water from the corner shop. I walk, and I walk, and I walk until I can’t feel my feet. I eat all the things. I buy Josh clothes. I find bookshops and open markets. I take pictures. I feel good. Thanks for caring and for all your messages and comments over the last few weeks. My outfit links below.

Crisscross Lavender

Today was my first day back on the job! Just so you know I drink on the job. Write drunk, edit sober.  I wrote the first chapter of my new novel and it’s a good thing too. I was starting to feel that dragging depression that comes when I’m not writing regularly. What am I writing next? A YA novel. Backstory: I have been sitting on this idea for twelve years!

Fashion

You should see the weird looks I get when I wear these Jeffrey Campbell slides. It’s like people have never seen an ugly pair of shoes before. I included a plus size option in today’s post. Scroll right for all of the options.

Fun People Wear Fun Leggings

We likes the yoga pants, we does. I don’t know about you guys but I take no joy in stuffing myself into a pair of jeans. That muffin top, though. Yikes! In summer I love shorter leggings. These lacy and partially sheer leggings are so fun! Lazy wear that makes you look like you know how to have fun! You know it’s true. I threw up some plus size pairs too. Let me know what you think.

Rose All Day

Hey guys!

So here I am in Switzerland and I loooove it. We rented a car because we’re going to drive to Bern and Lucerne and take pictures of all the things. It’s one of the trickier places we’ve been because the language is German and alas, we do not speak German. What did people do before GPS? Also I am overcome with a writing bug. I cannot stop writing. And it’s not even the book I’m supposed to be working on. This is how it goes, I’ll be in the bathroom blow drying my hair, or walking down a street, and all of a sudden (completely out of the blue) words will hit me. Not just any words, it’s the words you as readers underline, tattoo on your bodies, and assert are you favorite quotes. It’s the good shit, guys. They hit me when I’m busy and I can hear them in my head so clearly, but if I don’t hurry, if I don’t get them down as fast as I can-they leave me.  Josh is used to me sprinting across rooms, rushing toward my computer with a strange look on my face. He knows not to speak to me when I’m like that. If he speaks to me I could lose the words. Do you know what this means? It means that a lot of the time I look like a crazy person. I have  shoved him out of the way a time or two, and all to get to my computer. Life with an artist, eh?

Anyway, here is my outfit post. I purchased my suede, blush moto in London earlier this year with the intent of wearing it on my honeymoon. I found a dupe jacket since mine is on the pricier side. The dupe is under sixty bucks!   I also included plus size options for the moto and the tights. My shoes! They are legit the ugliest things I have ever seen. There are pearls inside of silver grommets and the whole thing reminds me of a skin disease. I love them for this reason. Anyway, I’ll update soon…and hopefully finish my book. Fingers crossed for me!
