My Favorite Things!

Okay, you guys wanted to see my favorite things. Perhaps you need a hint hint for the husband or boyfriend for Christmas, or maybe you’re just going to buy your own present. Either way here are my favorite things, both for myself and the home. I am a plant lover (my friends call my home Jurassic Park) and instead of potting my plants in boring planters I find unique ones at my local nursery. I have both the planters I listed and they bring me great joy. Secret, I love my Burberry rain boots about a thousand times more than my Hunters. They are considerably more comfortable. Josh and I have a record player in our bedroom. It’s the perfect addition to our funky, relaxed space. We have string lights along the ceiling and one of my favorite things to do is dance under the bedroom lights to music. I think its very romantic. As a family we are always dancing. Fig out on my White Lies canister, someone else already did. I keep mine in the kitchen. There’s a really funny line of them, I remember one being Valium. Black silverware for all the black souls. And I am obsessed with Jo Malone scents. I use this bath soak weekly. Rose and Gardenia are my favorite scents and this is just dreamy. All right, you get the point. Happy hinting!

Burgundian

Those trees though! Guys, this month. I don’t even know what to say about it. On a positive note it’s a beautiful month, the reds, and oranges, and yellows. There have been vivid color explosions in my house. Mostly relating to Scarlet’s moods. You don’t name a child Scarlet and not expect some colorful moods, right? I always feel like such a failure when my children aren’t stable, predictable, obedient robots. I have to take a deep breath and remember that they are living, evolving, vividly colorful humans and I have to teach them how to control certain aspects of their personalities, while helping others to flourish and grow. It’s hard work, but we don’t give birth to humans to half ass their upbringing. Right? Right. So, cut yourself a break this week. Make sure they know they’re loved, and also that they know how to show love. And maybe buy yourself a burgundy sweater, because every time I wear burgundy I feel like a fall fairy.

Free the Stripes

All the sales, guys! My Free People top is 40% off right now. So is my Miranda tote! You hardly ever find a Miranda for that price, true story. By the way, I almost returned my new Kate Spade shoes after they arrived in the mail. I tried them on and decided they were uncomfortable right away. But, I have to tell you after wearing them all day (and walking all the places with my nature loving boyfriend) they didn’t hurt one bit. As it turns out they’re incredibly comfortable, and I have an intense love relationship with black and white stripes (you should see my house). And hey! If you’re in a warmer climate I linked you to the exact same top but sleeveless! (also on sale)

Target Does High/Low

You know, I’m not going to lie and pretend I’m not a clothing snob. Back in the day (or three years ago) Target was too expensive for me. Target clothes were a luxury. And while I still sometimes shop for clothes at Target, I’ve become disenchanted with their jeans (they stretch out), and I have serious issues with their undies (they fade and stretch out). But, there is one thing Target does very right, and that is their cotton tee’s. They wash well, they’re versatile, they’re half the price of every other retail store. So, when I spotted this very soft, very cool high/low tee I snatched it up. Well worth it, especially for the $19.00 price tag. High/Low is the “in thing” right now, and why not purchase where it’s both a good quality, and a good price. Also, have you invested in a pair of Converse wedges? So comfortable. I wear mine a couple times a week.

Downtown Stripes

So, there are these stripes…

I love them. I have so many plans for this striped tee: blazers, shorts, skirts. My pants are from All Saints and they’re my favorite. And my jacket is something I picked up in Australia last year, the brand is UGG. I listed a similar one, and also a more affordable look-alike.
